It's Thanksgiving once again, and again I just wanted to take a few minutes to express things that I am thankful for. It has been a good year so far for me. But I will start by acknowledging that I have nothing without God. First and foremost, I thank God for my salvation! I fall short every day and have to re-examine myself to make sure I'm living for Him like I should be.
I am thankful for God's Word!
Something I am extremely thankful for is the gift that is my wife and the beginning of our new life together. Yes, I was married in October, and I couldn't be happier! I prayed for a long time for God to send me a woman who loves Him first above all things, and He heard my prayers. I serve a good and faithful God, no doubt!
I am thankful for my new family on my wife's side whom I'm spending Thanksgiving with! They love, serve, and honor God, and I have felt at home with them from the start.
He has blessed me with my job, and being able to enjoy many aspects of the outdoors as I work it.
I am thankful for my truck that gets me to my job.
I am thankful for the boat, and its many uses to include recreation (catching fish for fun and food, scuba diving, camping out on it) and proposing to my wife on it.
I am thankful for being blessed with a roof over our heads.
I am thankful for electricity that makes all of our lives so much easier.
I am thankful that I still have my parents, my brother, and my sister and her family.
I am thankful that I became an uncle again this year to a healthy little nephew!
I am thankful for cellphones and being able to keep in contact with my wife and family while away at work.
I am thankful for new friends that I am making through my wife.
I am thankful for old friends that have stuck around and kept in touch over the years.
I am thankful for the branches of the U.S. Military that protect our freedoms and right to protect ourselves and families, and my friends and family who have served.
I am thankful for the clean air and water that we are blessed to breath and drink.
I am thankful for the traveling that God has allowed me to do this year to Alaska, Dominican Republic, and Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos, and being able to enjoy the sights of His creation in those places.
I am very thankful for the opportunity to attend the mission trip is year, and for future opportunities to go again.
Happy Thanksgiving, and don't forget to go outside and explore all that the Lord has made. Even if it's just in your own backyard!
In Christ,
Kevin-
