When I look up at the sky, once in a while I think about the second day of Creation. Especially when I'm out on the water, whether it be at work, or out on my own boat. When I look up at the clouds in the sky, I'm looking through a firmament (a space) between them and the water below me. In Genesis 1:2, it says on the first day that the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
On the second day, it says that He divided those waters.
Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day. -Genesis 1:6-8
As a matter of fact, I believe God is the Utmost Authority on division. He divided the directions of the compass, hot from cold, odd from even, right from wrong, etc... On the first day, we know that He divided light from darkness. And then Jesus divided so many other things when He died on the cross, and rose from the grave. He divided life from death, And He divided the Church from the rest of the world. (The Church being those who truly believe that He is the Son of God, Born of a Virgin, Rose from death after His crucifixion on the cross, and that we pray to God the Father in His (Jesus) name, and no one else)
Therefore “Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”
“I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.” -2 Corinthians 6:17-18
Yes, God has divided many things in this life for good and His Glory. Of course there are divisions in life as a result of the curse brought on by Adam's sin, and the consequences for our disobedience to God's Laws for how we should live as well, such as divorce, and divisions within the Church (that In my opinion are often brought on by differing denominations and compromising The Word). As much as the Devil would like to divide God's kingdom, and Eternal Plan through lies and deception, he cannot change what God has destined to come about. The Devil will loose in the end. This is certain because it has been revealed to us in the Bible by The One who knows everything. (The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. -Revelation 20:10)
It's amazing to me all that there is to learn, realize, and be revealed through Creation, and The Lord's Holy Word. God is good!
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you are all well. The days are beginning to get a little longer, and Spring is on it's way. Get outside when you can and explore, and enjoy all that God has made!
