For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well. -Psalm 139:13
In literally just a matter of days my wife and I will be meeting our first child for the first time. As you can imagine I am experiencing feelings of happiness, nevousness, and anticipation all at the same time. I have been amazed over the last few months with being able to watch the progression of our child growing both in my wife's belly and on ultrasound images. Being one who loves studying and enjoying creation, I am just in awe of all that God is capable of, especially with the gift of a life He has created for my wife and I.
I am looking forward to the birth of our child as the second happiest day of my life (The first being the day I got to marry my best friend)! Then I see myself in a few years taking our child fishing, exploring the outdoors and God's creation, diving, and many other things that my Dad did with me! I look forward to family vacations and all kinds of talks at the dinner table.
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them...
-Psalm 127:3-5
I have had many positive comments thrown my way. A few of my co-workers and friends have told me what great parents they know my wife and I will be. My sister told me that this child will ALWAYS add to me and my wife's life. I thank God for my sister every day. Having children of their own, my sister and brother in law have given my wife and I so much support. So many of our friends and family have done the same. A few weeks ago my mate (and friend) at work told me about things I will experience when my child comes into the world. He talked of the experiences I have to look forward too and hearing the sound of laughter from my child in the home.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. -James 1:17
Today a fellow captain at work stopped me just because he wanted to tell me what a radical change is about to happen in my life. What was the radical change he was speaking of? Joy! Pure joy! He just wanted to offer me encouragement and tell me what a great blessing is about to come into my life. He said "When you see your child born, you will have no doubt that there is a God! Your lives are about to change for the better!" Appreciation and thankfulness was all I had for the encouragement he gave me today.
I am thankful for so many things in this life including good folks God has put in my path along the way. I am thankful to have a job and to be able to provide for my family. I am thankful for my wife and for her making me a better man each day.
And I am thankful for the blessing that is my child soon to come!
Before you were born God knew you and set you apart (Jeremiah 1:5). If you haven't yet given your life over to God through Jesus Christ, please don't wait to do so. There is an eternity without fear, pain, and sadness if you'll only submit to Him and live to give Him glory.

Thank you for stopping by and staying a while. Don't forget to get outside and explore the things that the Lord has made. Even if it's just in your own backyard.
In Christ,
Kevin-
