I hope many of you were able to see the color of the Autumn leaves. My scheduled time off of work didn't allow me to catch the peak season, but I was still able to see a pretty spectacular display a few weeks ago.
So many of us are preparing to travel for the holidays. I myself am one of the many. Thanksgiving is in a few days, so I was hoping to get a short entry out before things get to crazy with preparations and packing. I have much to be thankful for this year. I still have my parents, and family that love me. I still have a job that I enjoy. I have food in the cabinets and electricity under the roof that God has put over my head. I live in the greatest country in the world. And of course for God's gift of salvation in my life! I am thankful to Him for so much.
While I am blessed in many areas, my heart is a bit heavy today for some folks that I know, who are going through troubled times. I am constantly lifting them up in prayer, and hoping that God will let them feel His closeness this Holiday season. You may know someone going through a tough time right now. Maybe they are having trouble getting their bills paid. Perhaps they are having family trouble, or maybe someone has fallen away from their faith in the Lord, doubting His existence because of the deception of the wicked one and the world.
God let's us know that He is with us, and that we are loved and thought of every day through His awesome creation around us! We are without excuse to think otherwise (Romans 1:20).
With God's love pouring on us, we should pour ours on others. And not just people close to home. We can love the less fortunate around the world by praying for them, and asking God to make their hearts His home.
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
-1 John 4:7-12
I hope that you all have a great Thanksgiving this year!
Don't forget to go outside and explore the things that God has created! The beauty of His awesome work is all around us!
In Christ,
Kevin-
