God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
-Psalm 46:1
Everything that is happening with the country and the world right now is fitting with God's word (in accordance to Biblical prophecy) . Everything that is happening in our jobs, and our relationships, has an outcome that has been decided from eternity past. We might not like it, but He has pre-determined all that will happen on this side of Heaven and make it work for His glory. Every flight a bird makes, every flower that buds, every snowflake and raindrop that falls was planned.
My last work week was very hard and stressful. And I'll admit that patience wasn't the first thing on my mind all the time. But I had to remember those verses in James and to understand that having patience (I believe) is being in obedience to the Father. I think when things get crazy, or situations aren't the way that we would immediately have them, patience allows us to slow down, and not over react. I believe it also lets us see more clearly where we can encourage others.
When we look at whats going on with our government, the moral state of the country, the increasing trouble building in the Middle East, our own personal lives including working hard in our jobs, relationships, finances, and thinking of our loved ones...all of that combined is chaos to me. But if we'll listen, God tells us to ease back the throttle, and to know that He's at the wheel. He commands us to encourage each other of this. And He has told us to relax and know that He's soon going to bring an end to the chaos.
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ -Isaiah 41:10
“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” -Revelation 22:12-13
