Christian Fellowship and...Spiders?

"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." -Matthew 18:20
Hi Everybody!
You're probably wondering by reading the title for this entry how in the world I managed to fit these two subjects together in one entry. Well, I'm glad you asked...or at least thought about it. It's something I've been thinking about the last few days. But it's been hard to put my thoughts into words here.
The last couple of weeks at work have been quite challenging. But one thing that has made those weeks easier and a success has been having a crew working well together and getting along. My mate in particular is a fellow brother in Christ, and a Creationist like myself. And like myself, he has an extreme passion for the outdoors. So as you can imagine, we get along great.
During the last 2 weeks we worked together, we had many great discussions  about our faith, why we believe what we do, evidences that support our beliefs, and the fact that Christ is in it all. My mate was very encouraging, and he taught me an extreme great deal about a lot of things. One of those things was one of Gods little creations (or big, depending on how you view them)...spiders.

Now anyone that knows me knows that I personally have no use for a spider. Most bugs don't bother me, snakes don't bother me, and a lot of other creepy crawlies don't bother me. But spiders...nope. I don't do spiders. Sure, I have photographed some in the past, but always from a safe distance, say, a 10-15 foot safe distance with a telephoto lens...until now!
The mate on the boat was so excited about these creatures. He was able to encourage me to have a closer (much closer) look at them. So close that I took the images of the spiders in this entry using the macro setting in my cell phone. This means that I had my phone right up to these arachnids. That would include my hands and fingers. Luckily, I still have them ;)

The original spider kind was created on day six of the creation week (Genesis 1:24-25) Beach Wolf Spider-
I actually learned quite a bit about spiders on the last week that we worked together. Some of the pictures that we took were quite good to be cellphone shots. We were able to share tips and tricks about our phone cameras with each other. I could see God's design in spiders, and that was very exciting. The mate had brought to work with him a couple of very good field guides. We were able to identify many of the spiders that we had found. I was also able to identify other spiders and bugs that I have photographed in the past where as before, I never new what they were concerning the species. And just to add, all the spiders that we found and photographed were right around the office buildings at work which backs up what I always say about not needing to go to far off places to see the Lord's Creation. It's all around if you just look hard enough.
All of this made the work week easier. It's exciting being a Christian. It's even more exciting to work with other Christians strong in the faith, and to be in fellowship with them while you work...and look for spiders!
The warm weather is here at last. Get outside just as quick as you can and explore the things that God has made!
Thank you for stopping by!
God Bless,
Kevin-
